Finishing

Gerome's capabilities do not end with the fabrication process. We also employ a number of finishing techniques to suit nearly every need. Once fabricated, parts can complete their transformation through sandblasting, time-saving, painting, etching, annealing, and/or minor assembly.

Sandblasting/Time-Saving

Quality painted products need to be treated in order for the would-be paint to be applied properly. Gerome Manufacturing utilizes both sandblasting and time-saving to ensure that the quality of the finished product adheres to the strictest of standards. Our in-house sandblasting booth allows for proper paint-preparation. Painted parts, both large and small, are blasted with steel shot in order to create a sufficiently rough surface for paint adhesion. This process will ensure against chipping and peeling of painted surfaces. Our facility is capable of handling parts up to approximately 12' x 20'.

Time-saving is another technique used to prepare surfaces for either paint adhesion, or for a sanded finish. This process also deburrs materials while applying a rust inhibiting compound.

Painting

Gerome is capable of painting in both wet and powder applications. With 1 wet batch booth, 2 powder batch booths, 3 paint ovens, and a powder conveyor line, we can assure on-time delivery of a high-quality product. The high-capacity booth and oven, along with the conveyor line, make it possible for Gerome to handle large quantities of product in a minimal timeframe.

Annealing

The process of annealing is utilized at Gerome Manufacturing in order to remove the magnetic properties of nickel. This technique is used primarily in the production of magnetic shielding. Our oven heats the product to 2150°F, cleaning the material of any impurities and stripping the metal of its magnetic properties.

Assembly

Minor mechanical and hardware assembly is often the last stage of the production process at Gerome Manufacturing. Our personnel will assemble product per the specifications of drawings provided by the customer. Common assembly work includes, but is not limited to: doors, hinges, windows, nameplates, bus bar, and other hardware.
